Exodus 9:16 NLT But I have spared you for a purpose—to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth.
Beginning this year, the Holy Spirit teaches me about trusting God as I go to the next level. Often, God challenges my faith because I expect him to move in a specific direction. But he has his own purpose when I face a different road. Looking at our spiritual walk, we also need a strong purpose for our daily lives. Like New Year’s resolutions, some of us promise to eat healthy food and lose weight, but within four weeks, most people give up. I do not like resolutions, but I want to find a deeper purpose for my life this year.
What is your purpose on earth?
Someone cannot imagine her destiny, but God’s purpose supersedes man’s thoughts or ideologies. If you think the best plan— you would imagine a meaningful relationship with God and other friends. When we put God first, we can find the answer. Looking at the children of Israel, men and women murmured and complained against God when they looked at their grim circumstances instead of having hope. In the wilderness, God provided food every day while the children of Israel’s clothes lasted for years. Your heavenly father wants us to focus on others’ problems. Do you look around and notice your co-workers’ problems?
When we submit to God’s will by witnessing hope to others, God gets the glory. Though I have my own concerns, I try to avoid selfish behavior all the time and show love. A single mother may need extra money so she can go to work and church. Through love, she learns about a God who cares deeply for her life.
The Devil attacks
Before I can become a blessing, the Devil attacks my mind and I quote Romans 10:17. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. A powerful word. The Devil’s main goal is destroying everything that God establishes in our lives.
I can receive a word at church, and tomorrow the Devil steals my joy; I look at a mountain with fear and disbelief. My faith suddenly crashes to the ground. But God promises me peace and joy for my life, despite attacks. I rebuke the Devil, and he flees.
John 6:63 I love to quote. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. We have the victory!
Walk in excellence
Walking in excellence, I can achieve better goals in my prayer life when I avoid jumping into the day. It’s a struggle some days balancing my prayer life and work because we live in a productive society. Yeah, sometimes I fail, but God forgives me because he does not keep a record of wrong.
When my spirit man becomes dry, I lack confidence and the Holy Spirit leads me to a scripture. As you start the New Year, you ought to use each moment reflecting on God’s purpose. What area do you search for guidance or work out? Since I’m not perfect, I constantly improve my love walk. You and I must love other people deeply by ministering the word and making disciples like Paul. 1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shuteeth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him.
We exist so God receives the glory. You know, I heard a sermon on the radio twice before understanding my assignment. Jesus is the ultimate reason why you show love toward your neighbors. Jesus died on the cross so each day we have victory over sin and death. Praise the Lord!
Do you think about helping people because God looks for vessels? As you explain your testimony, another person sees the mighty hand of God. In the world, many are suffering disease, poverty, and mental illness. You do not know what problems a co-worker faces like child care and finances for car repairs. As a witness, anybody can become a vessel shedding light on God’s character. As a result, a co-worker experiences kindness, and the gospel is attractive.
