Ever since I was a little girl, I always enjoyed celebrating Christmas with friends and family. We indulge in food, music, and of course gifts. Can you think of Christmas without giving so many presents away? Searching for the perfect gift, shoppers are competitive in malls while looking for the best sales. For one month, Christmas allows us to express our love and appreciation through festive activities, and you can be happy. And we look forward to celebrations every year, but you must remember the significance of Jesus’ birth practicing God’s love.
The prophet Isaiah proclaimed Jesus’ birth in the Old Testament which foretold God’s destiny for saving humanity. As a result, the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel Isaiah 7:14 New International Version. Immanuel means “god with us” because God effectively designed a better plan of salvation.
God revealed his wonderful plan when Mary a virgin became pregnant through the Holy Spirit, over 700 years later. This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit Matthew 1:18. The prophet’s word came true when God became a man flesh and bones living a perfect life! We all can be thankful by gaining a deeper appreciation for Jesus’ birth. In fact, he was the perfect gift for a dark world. For three years, Jesus as an adult preached the good news as he healed sick adults and children. He also healed other people from demonic activity with the power of the Holy Spirit. As a result, we can receive abundant blessings in the Kingdom of God like peace in our minds and financial prosperity.
Man overcomes sin
More importantly, Jesus died on the cross so he became the mediator between God and man. Sin symbolizes rebellion, and we cannot enter into God’s presence. Jesus is a bridge so that man can communicate to God. Our relationship with God is vital when you pray in the name of Jesus receiving your answers.
In God’s presence we find fullness of joy and peace, during stressful moments in our lives. In my prayer closet, I don’t stress over problems because I can trust my heavenly father reassuring me through prayer. When I have a need, I can talk to God anytime of the day or night.
As a result, Jesus establishes a new covenant with believers. Look at Hebrews 9:15 that is why he is the one who meditates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant. Jesus’ death represented the official offering which triumphs sin. But, with the old covenant the priest entered the sanctuary performing an atonement with animal blood.
Celebrating Christmas enthusiastically, Jesus symbolizes love to the world so we witness hope in light of despair. Some of us have unsaved family that need a relationship with God to understand his love. In December, many get happy because they usher in Christmas decorating the house constantly and shopping for a lot of food… Even if others spend so much time creating a perfect day, Jesus can transform your life. You ask how God changes a person’s life.
A strong confession that is your source for building faith. God is your Lord and Savior, and overtime the Body of Christ transforms you into a new creature. Attending bible study, you learn scriptures and make new friends to fight sin. As a Christian, I develop a new identity a different purpose in life creating a pure heart and praying for God’s direction in my life.
But in the world, we were slaves to sin living in utter darkness. God guides us toward a different direction.
During office celebrations, you and I can help someone else to start a new beginning in Christ when we share a testimony. You could tell a friend at work how God helped you to forgive your family members after a hurtful experience. Or at a school play you witness about Christ’s love. God loves others through your ministry of helps. Whether we realize all these opportunities for witnessing, you and I can find many avenues assisting people to realize their full potential.
This year, I reject idolatry worshiping an idle more than my relationship with Jesus. I lacked finances to buy extravagant gifts, but I purchase inexpensive gifts and make cards with much love. Many people said, “It is the thought that counts instead of the cost”.
All along, God waited patiently before revealing his gift to the world. God showed his grace through Jesus’ works like healing and preaching to many people. Without God’s love, you can’t even develop faith that gives your family joy, peace, and productivity. As you remember the true meaning of Christmas, you share your insights about Jesus’ birth with a co-worker or neighbor.
