People learn about someone else’s blessings, and they become jealous. In church, men and women testify how they get new jobs. Some people even buy their dream homes. Occasionally, everyone becomes jealous, because a person is human and struggles with emotions. We ought to rejoice over others’ blessings, because we will receive our own blessings soon. God has special blessings for each Christian? And I’m happy when my sister praises God.
Rejoice with those who celebrate special moments Romans 2:15 NLT.
When a person testifies about his or her accomplishments, some become envious and resentful. Someone else wants to have the job and new car as the Devil whisper lies. Your neighbor’s grass looks green, but you don’t know all the hurdles a person goes through daily.
I took Public Speaking class last month; our class did quizzes and wrote speeches for 3 weeks because a professor condensed the schedule. My classmate gave a speech how she struggled to complete college. As a young adult she had a lot of responsibility: work and school. She emphasized that “Nobody helped to pay her tuition, and she wanted to give up.” Sitting in class, I connected with someone else who shared her personal feelings.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between the soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. The word of God is sharper than a two edge sword. It penetrates bone and marrow (Hebrews 4:12 NLT).
When you feel jealous, you ought to be happy for a friend. Someone persevered. You can thank God in advance for your blessings (He is faithful.) I cannot see my blessing, and yet God diligently prepares a table for me. When we believe the Devil’s lies, we accept defeat. Jealousy hinders your attitude as well as thoughts. As a result negative thoughts affect our communication with God.
Without a pure heart, you and I miss the blessings, a new job with better benefits influence.
In Proverbs 16:1 AMP the plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the answer of the tongue. Often, we don’t know why God requires waiting periods or trials. You and I cannot know the intimate plans of God who plans every season for his children.
Whether you get jealous or feel spiritual fatigue, speak life into your problems. Our words carry the power of life and deaf. In my prayer closet, I get personal with God.
Looking at Hannah, she didn’t have a child and felt resentment. She stood out like a sore thumb. Hannah envied Peninnah because she already had two children. Most of all, Hannah prayed earnestly for a child.
Hannah was in distress of soul, praying to the Lord and weeping bitterly. She vowed saying O Lord of hosts, if you. Will indeed look on the affliction of your handmaid and remember. And not forget your handmaid but will give me a son, I will give him to the Lord all his life 1 Samuel 1:10-11.
We find all the answers for our problems like financial, marriage, and jobs in the word.
In time, God blessed. Hannah became pregnant and bore a son Samuel. She said, “I have asked him of the Lord.” Though Hannah suffered pain and disappointment, she trusted God for the right season.
Like Hannah, do you have a need? While other people criticize us, we should not doubt our potential. But meditate. *add my favorite scripture/psalm or proverbs.
Hannah trusted God. She even had more children because God blessed her abundantly than she ever imagined. God became a priest (1 Samuel 1:20).
God will bless us abundantly. First we trust him.
Jealousy robs us of many blessings. You must have patience while waiting. I believe patience is a virtue with the fruit of the spirit. Though some of us wait a long time, don’t become resentful toward your sister who gets a blessing. You keep waiting. Trust God when you don’t understand your own season.
